Do You Hear It Too? Front Wheel Making Clinking Sound

When the phone rang, George was sitting in his chair catching up on some of the latest sports news and putting the finishing touches on his fantasy football team.

Ryan his neighbor needed help cleaning up the mess a violent storm had left on his property in the mountains. Straight-line winds and 4 inches of rain in an hour had caused trees to uproot and limbs to scatter all across the front half of the property.

It took two days of back-breaking work for Ryan and George to clean up the mess.

Their arms were tired from dragging branches, liming trees, and cutting the wood into useable lengths. Thank goodness they had a hydraulic wood splitter. Ryan estimated he had enough firewood to last for the next five years.

On the way back to Canonsburg, Ryan’s driver side front wheel started making a clinking sound.

George thought at first it was something on the trailer that was riding funny. To Ryan, the noise sounded like a baseball card in the spoke of a bicycle tire. No matter how fast or slow they went, the noise level never changed. It seemed to occur more when he turned left. Ryan apologized and explained he had noticed the noise several weeks ago, but when he took his vehicle to the dealership they weren’t able to recreate the noise.

Ryan was extremely frustrated and was ready to make an audio recording of the noise so the dealership techs wouldn’t look at him like he was crazy.

George suggested he call Lou at Lombardi Auto Body and explain what was happening. Ryan took his advice and decided to let Lombardi Auto Body solve his mysterious front wheel noise.
